About Us
National Cheng Kung University was named to commemorate the Ming Dynasty General, Zheng Cheng Kung (a.k.a. Koxinga ), for defeating the Dutch in Tainan to claim Taiwan in 1662.
Since it was founded in 1931, the NCKU College of Engineering has been devoted to educating potential future leaders in academic research and industrial service, with an eye to contributing to the industrial establishment and economic development of Taiwan.
With the current 12 departments, 2 graduate institutes and 5 programs , the College of Engineering forms the largest engineering college in Taiwan.
