This work “Mechanisms – Theory and Applications, with 12 chapters, 90 worked examples and more than 300 illustrations, is intended mainly for use as an undergraduate text for teaching theory and applications of mechanisms with 3 to 4 credit hours. It includes up-to-date topics such as computer-aided analysis and design, conceptual design, robotic manipulators, and mechanisms of hybrid electrical vehicles, along with applications in machine tools, bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, aircraft, et cetera. To foster the appreciation of ancient designs, some ancient mechanisms are presented. And, various physical models of antique mechanisms with their associated computer animations, motion picture, and website are provided. A supplementary instructor’s manual is available to aid teaching, including PowerPoint slides, test banks, and solutions to end-of-chapter problems. It is believed that this book will fulfill the needs, both academic teaching and industrial applications, for the analysis and synthesis of mechanisms.

 

本書「機構學」主要為講授大學部機械系「機構學/機動學」原理與應用課程的教科書,適合以3-4學分授課。全書計12章,並利用90個應用實例與300多張的插圖來介紹機構學的原理與應用,包含電腦輔助分析與設計、概念設計、機械手臂、混合動力車傳動機構等最新的主題,以及於工具機、腳踏車、機車、汽車、飛機等產業上的應用。另,為了教育學生對古機械的認知,亦介紹古代的機構創作,包括古董機構模型的電腦模擬動畫、影片、及網站供讀者學習。此外,為了輔助授課教師,教師手冊提供PPT投影片、考試題庫、以及章後習題解答。相信此專書在機構分析與合成上,能符合學術教學與工業應用的需求。
