摘要
根據在環工系近四十幾年的教學經驗,將環境工程所得到的數據,透過統計分析其結果,用來解釋環境問題,本書最適合環境工程或科學系的統計教學。內容分成四大部分:第一部分是資料整理與分析,第二部份是介紹機率模式與抽樣分配,第三部分的統計推論與實驗設計,第四部份是回歸模式分析和時間序列模式分析。此外,本書具有下列兩個特點:
- 課本的內容含例題都與環境工程或科學有關的統計,每章後面都有習題,題目不多,但是按照該章的次序和例題排列,每個習題都附有詳細的解題過程,放在遠端網站,並附有QR code學習者可掃描閱讀;此外,並附有教師教學簡報檔供教師上課使用。
- 本書除了說明統計的原理之外,例題解題大部分用EXCEL的統計軟體計算。因為這個軟體大家都會,而且發展到現在大部分之統計問題,尤其基礎統計都足夠使用。

Abstract
Drawing on the author's over four decades of teaching expertise at NCKU, this book instructs students on utilizing statistical methods to analyze data in environmental engineering and science to make quantifiable conclusions that accurately interpret environmental issues or data. This makes the book an ideal resource for statistical teaching in environmental engineering or science faculties. The content of the book is structured into four major sections: data organization and analysis; the introduction of probability models and sampling distributions; statistical inference and experimental design; and analyses of regression models and time series. In addition, the book is characterized by two distinctive features:
- The content organization, statistical methods and examples of each chapter are all relevant to environmental engineering or science. Most book sections include examples with a limited number but detailed explanations for each. Exercises are provided at the end of each chapter for students to practice, arranged in the order of the chapter’s content. Detailed solutions for each exercise and instructional PowerPoint files for teachers' reference can be downloaded from the book’s cloud drive, accessible via the accompanying QR code.
- In addition to explaining statistical concepts, the book solves questions using Microsoft EXCEL®, a statistical program that is commonly used and deemed appropriate for basic statistics.
