Abstract
This book introduces the procedure and provides the fundamental knowledge required to plan, implement and administer a basin-scale water pollution control program. Except for the pollution control principles learned from traditional environmental engineering textbooks, a successful program of water pollution control is based on components such as a thorough understanding of waterbody characteristics and pollution sources, and the correct use of scientific/engineering methods with representative data. The fundamental knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, and water quality provided in this book facilitates environmental engineers to collect representative data, build appropriate modeling tools and make better decisions. Additionally, practical water pollution control approaches are also provided in this book, with worked examples comprised from localized data.
