Visit to Vietnam in April 2019
The purpose of this trip is to visit Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), VNU - University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET), VNU - University of Science (VNU-HUS), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), and VNU - Vietnam Japan University (VNU-VJU) to further strengthen the relationship between the College of Engineering (COE), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and these universities, aiming to generate various forms of research/academic collaborations. After the visits, Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) had been signed between College of COE, NCKU and HCMUT, HCMUTE, VNU-UET, and VNU-HUS. The trip was led by the Dean of the College of Engineering (COE), Prof. Woei-Shyan Lee, and accompanied by Associate Dean of COE, Prof. Jyh-Ming Ting, and a PhD Student, Nguyen Van Thanh. At HCMUTE and VNU-HUS, we reviewed and discussed the MoUs between COE, NCKU and the universities, proposed possible joint degree for bachelor, joint degree for master, students and faculties exchanges, co-supervising senior project, and other collaborative activities. In particular, HCMUT and VNU-UET was very interested to do collaboration with NCKU, especially for several specific faculties and departments as Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Material Technology (HCMUT), and Faculty of Engineering Physics and Nanotechnology, School of Aerospace Engineering (VNU-UET). At HUST and VNU-VJU, we visited and discussed with the leaders of two universities about possible opportunities to collaborate in both academic and research areas.
